Paranormal Activity. My initial reaction: I waited thirteen years for R quality entertainment, and all they could come up with was this?!?!?

Luckily, I soon realized it wasn't all R movies that were dumb, just a few franchises.

I don't think movies had ratings when I first started watching them, and it's hard to remember that long ago, but the earliest R-rated movie I saw is probably Papillon.

They didn't have that rating system but I think I had to go with an adult.Because of brief nudity and cursing.WOW now a daily occurrence on TV.Times have changed.

I think by the time I watched it it was probably more of a PG-13 though. My parent's VHS said it was R so I thought it was cool, lol.

I didn't know that it was Rated R. Then I saw the Matrix as a teen and my dad fast-forwarded through the inappropriate parts. I was a sheltered child.

That's odd I saw it with friends all under 18 and there were many,many other minors on line.I guess they didn't enforce it in NJ?

I just remember being 14 when it first came out and having my friends older sister take us. Maybe they weren't enforcing it.
