It used to be sci-fi. I am or was a Trekkie. I have just about every paperback Star Trek novel written from about the mid 1970's to around 2000. Around the turn of this century the Star Trek novels starting turning into serials, with multiple editions of the same story line and they were to hard to keep up with. I didn't have a computer at the time and if you didn't catch one at the book store at the right time you'd miss an edition, and some of the book stores didn't even have every edition of every serial story all the time. It was too much trouble and damn near impossible to catch every edition of a serial story. The small town i live in does not have a bookstore, the nearest one was at least seventy-five miles away, so I never asked to be put on notification, as i knew I couldn't run up to the bookstore every time an edition came out, it was a 150 mile round trip. So the serial thing started with Star Trek TOS, then Star Trek TNG, then Voyager, and then they started coming out with Star Trek novels that were set in the Star Fleet time and theme that didn't have anything at all to do with the characters in the original or the next generation series, so I gave it up. I have renewed hope though. I recently found a paperback Star Trek novel published this year and set in Star ...

I have renewed hope though. I recently found a paperback Star Trek novel published this year and set in Star Trek TOS during the first five year cruise. It was great.

Nowadays my favorite authors are Dean Koontz and Rollins. I love the Odd Thomas series by Dean Koontz, and everything else he's published with the exception of the Frankenstein series. I refuse to even look at any of them. And the Sigma Force series by James Rollins is Great too, as is everything else he's published, even a couple of novels he published under the nom de plume James Clemens. Jams Rollins is also a nom de plume. His real name is James Czajkowski. He great too.

So there you have it. Thank you.

I only enjoy non-fiction works, so it was either going to be a biographical or historical novel, which have placed next to one another in the results so far anyway!!

Self-help books (that are not novels). When I read books of this type I do not want fiction mixed in - just the facts, gathered data, truth, etc.

A second set is historical fiction or writings of proved authors (like C.S. Lewis or Tolkien, etc.).

Good future fantasy or more realistic. What can we expect to happen around the bend? Will things like I overhead on a train recently be available to us? "What would you rather get? 1. To be teleported to and back from Arkansas whenever you want. 2. To change your hair in 100 ways immediately, just by thinking about it? Barbarella future sex
