Trouble is… most folks are having difficulty distinguishing REAL from UNREAL properly nowadays.

That episode about the brain exploding you've mentioned is probably from INTENSE sound,
speculatively, you could find a harmonic frequency that could resonate the skull like a paint-shaker & frappé your gray matter (Mars Attacks?).
Too gruesome for my liking.
