I'm not interested in status--at all. Never have been. Financially and materially, I want just enough to be able to afford what I/me/mine need plus a few occasional wants. The only benefit to being 'rich,' as far as I'm concerned, is the ability to make the world a better place than it was before I got here.

Ultimately, though, to me the measure of a successful life can be expressed mathematically: that which I've done FOR others minus what I've done TO others. The objective is to end up with a positive integer. :-)
