Just gathering Opinions.
Was recently inquired upon as to what the actual duties of a stay at home mome are.
And It was clear that it was implied that Stay At Home Mom's take advantage of their husbands so they can sit around at home all day? Just curious.

Being a stay at home mum isn't easy. You have to look after the kids, keep the house in order, manage finances on a budget between you and your partner, etc. It takes a lot out of you, though I know that many women find it very rewarding to get to spend this kind of time with their kids.
There's nothing wrong with being a career mum, either. If you want a career, go for it. Whichever one you pick, it doesn't matter-- the choice is yours, and only you can know what's best for you and your family. We didn't come all this way with women's rights just to tell women to stop being stay at home mums, instead of telling them to stop trying for a job or career (ergo, moving from one extreme end of the spectrum to the other-- instead of telling women that they shouldn't have jobs, we're telling them that they shouldn't be stay at home moms.) We came all this way so that women would have more choices.
Being a stay at home mum is just as good as being a career mum, and vice-versa.
I don't get vacation days, I don't get sick days and I don't get paid. I'd like to see some of the people who think we are taking advantage of our husbands do what I do in an average day.
Summer is a little bit more relaxed, and not so go, go, go... with a bit more playtime.
Today, I woke up, made my bed, made some important phone calls. Woke my boys up, made them breakfast, cleaned the kitchen, vacuumed the family room and living room and packed our lunches. Now we are leaving, going to the bank, to Target and then the Waterpark. We will spend a couple of hours there then we will go to the grocery store to pick up a few things, milk being one of them, then come home. I will start laundry, prep dinner, and then take my son to karate. When we get home I will finish cooking dinner, clean the kitchen again, do some more laundry, water the yard and weed my garden. Then I will sit down watch a family show, put my boys to bed and read a bit before I go to bed. And this is an easy day.
sounds familiar :)
Thanks for your thoughts , i guess.
I don't like seeing women down each other for what they do or don't do for work. Those who go outside of the home & SAHM's both deserve respect (or Dad's for that matter).

During this past year I have worked harder than in any job I had before. NO ONE who takes care of children all day has the time to "sit around". That implication is insulting.
I have become the champion of all stay at home moms everywhere. If this person has any more inquiries feel free to send him/her my way. I would be more than happy to list the actual duties of a stay at home mom and follow that up with a list of reasons why the question is incredibly stupid. :-)
