What is your opinion on band members (males in particular) who wear make-up, paint their nails, wear feminine hair styles and clothes for showmanship, but then take it to the extreme by wearing it on a regular basis or say they do it for their fans?

I don't agree that it is just part of their on stage persona and that it's what the fans or media want. When guys are looking almost as good as a girl and pride on the fact they portray a feminine visual, I think it goes deeper and almost a uni-sex issue or they want to be what they are not so they use it under the guise of stage presence. If my son ever dressed goth or wore makeup and nail polish on a daily basis and tried to pass it off as something less then what it is, then I would see professional help and have his testosterone levels checked! Jon Bon Jovi does not dress like he did in the 80's off the stage-but the Screamo bands and those that follow suit are setting a standard that it is ok and acceptable for guys to appear feminine but they really aren't, it's just a persona for the fans.

No, but what do you think about gender crossings? No wonder so many ppl are confused or just plain in the dark about who they are. Dressing up is one thing, choosing to appear as something you are not is another. Just saying like it is.....from my personal viewpoint. Don't be hating!reply - shinnis 2011/08/29 18:06:40No big deal, it's like dressing up.Its entertainment. Its fun. Its ok. Dont sweat the small stuff. I'm sure girlie boys will become girlie men and boys dabbling in the costume of the "entertainers" will grow out of it...the more you make such a big deal out of it...the longer its gonna last. Ignore it...it will go away...(Gawd, I hope so!)reply
