Most of my ancestors came from Ireland. One was apparently descended from English ancestors, but my relatives don't appear willing to admit that. On my mother's side, my great grandfather came from what is now Northern Ireland, and married a woman from Scotland.
My fathers family are from central Scotland around the Lanark and Glasgow area about 30 miles from Edinburgh. My mothers family are from the Western Isles from the Isle of Skye and Isle and Rúm.
Ah, very cool. I've seen most of Scotland (except, of course, where my family is actually from, since I only recently got my hands on the letter that had an address on it). I still want to get to Skye, though. I hear it's beautiful.
My mom is Native American (Cherokee) & Italian. She was taken out of her home by the govt and put up for adoption because her parents didn't believe in sending their children to school. My dad is Norweigen & German.
Jane, my heritage is a Black American. My dads dad on record was really not my dads dad, it is believed to be either one of the white slave owners kids or the slave owner himself. My dads dad of records was a dark skinned 72 year old man when my dad was born in 1919. My dads mom was 27 years old and also a dark skinned Black woman ; on the contrary, my dad was very light skinned and so was his sisters and brothers who continued to be born after my dads dad died. However, those born after the old Black guy died, were given maiden name of my dads mom. My moms dad and mom were more intact, but because Inwas born to older parents, my heritage has a mixture of African and other stuff American that does not claim me. So thus I end up being Black American. Many Africans can trace their history and some people do not know that Black Americans are different from Africans.
“American Me”
I was once blinded by those who themselves really cannot see
I am who I am- made in the USA- I am Black- American me
Many go to Africa to look for a place and people to belong
Truth is- we were made in America and this is really our home
The truth be known, our history is not just from a place far
The mixture running through our blood is part of who we are
Chickens coming home to roost is not just...

Chickens coming home to roost is not just for the White man
My ancestor’s slavery was made possible by fellow Africans
Africans sold us and Whites bought us: today neither is claiming
Accept who we are as we are and stop with all this blaming
I was once blinded by those who themselves really cannot see
I am who I am- made in the USA- I am Black- American me
Some feel proud to say they are black- but mixed with other races
The character of man should be God like, not the beauty of faces
God sees us all as His creation as in His image were we made
Whether rich or poor, Black or White the equalizer is the grave
The time for us to be wiser in our years is here soon enough
Holding on to prejudices and fears yield roots born to be unjust
Let us unite as a nation and show all together we can stand
Whether naturalized or born of this soil, we are all Americans
I was once blinded by those who themselves really cannot see
I am who I am- made in the USA- I am Black- American me
I am an American
On my father's side I'm mostly English with some Dutch from New Amsterdam. On my mother's side I'm German, Swiss and French. Almost all of them have been here since the 1600's.
not a clue, I'm adopted. I could probably pass for a native anywhere in Europe from Norway (where I was assumed to be Norwegian) to Northern Italy. As long as I don't open my mouth that is.
I support Armenia!!!!<3
