no idea what shows non-brits would know, so im just guessing here...

Sherlock
Dr Who
Lip Service
Sugar Rush
and lots of the BBC mini series
"Torchwood" was good sci-fi before they went American.
"A Touch of Frost" and "Murphy's Law" were excellent cop shows.
"Doc Martin" was good drama.
"The Hotel" is the best 'reality show' ever made.
"Peep Show" is/was the best sitcom, anywhere, ever... as was "Black Books". :O)
"Worst Week..." for short comedy series.
"QI" for panel shows, and "The University Challenge" for quiz shows.
"Creature Comforts" wins Best Animated Short Subjects.
"Look Around You" was great for just being off-the-wall hilarious.
Everything else has been well worth watching, except for "Ali G" and "Bo' Selecta" which should never have been aired in the first place.

#1 is Monty Python
And, as for them remaking our shows, I saw Law & Order UK and it is amazing. I cannot stand the American version.
Fawlty Towers, Monty Python, Porridge, Dad's Army, Space 1999, Steptoe & Son, Thunderbirds, Survivors, Quatermass.
Did you catch the remake of "Survivors" by any chance? I was enjoying that, until they just quit making them. :O( Could you pop by the BBC and get them back onto this project again, sometime?
I haven't even bothered with American TV for the past 15 years. No comparison.
Sherlock Holmes.
And Monty Python
