    expert on this

"Torchwood" was good sci-fi before they went American.

"A Touch of Frost" and "Murphy's Law" were excellent cop shows.

    "Doc Martin" was good drama.

"The Hotel" is the best 'reality show' ever made.

"Peep Show" is/was the best sitcom, anywhere, ever... as was "Black Books". :O)

"Worst Week..." for short comedy series.

"QI" for panel shows, and "The University Challenge" for quiz shows.

"Creature Comforts" wins Best Animated Short Subjects.

"Look Around You" was great for just being off-the-wall hilarious.

Everything else has been well worth watching, except for "Ali G" and "Bo' Selecta" which should never have been aired in the first place.

Everything Stephen Fry touches is excellent! I can't answer the University Challenge questions, either-- but it's just amazing to see these school kids breeze right through. :O)

I've actually seen all of those. I hate the US version of the office, but yours was slightly better. Still, not something I'd watch. Red Dwarf was ok. Little Britain is all right in small doses, Black Adder was not my cuppa because I can't stand one of the actors in it whose name escapes me at the moment. I did like Fawlty Towers (although not as much as Monty Python) and I love Sherlock and think it's just terrible that the US is going to do a second rate remake.

To be fair, name a time the US didn't remake a foreign TV show into something horrible when compared to the original.

True, but the Brits have also done remakes of our shows at times. I wonder why we have Hollywood when their stuff is so much better?

Because we don't understand their humor as a whole. I watched a movie once called Attack the Block that was almost never heard of outside of Britain, but if you can find it, watch it. Ghetto kids save their neighborhood from an alien invasion. So much awesome action and humor. I did have to have some of the jokes explained, because I am still becoming acclimated to their brand of humor. I get some of it, but some is still out of my reach.

And, as for them remaking our shows, I saw Law & Order UK and it is amazing. I cannot stand the American version.

Dont forget all the brilliant shows of yesteryear.
Fawlty Towers, Monty Python, Porridge, Dad's Army, Space 1999, Steptoe & Son, Thunderbirds, Survivors, Quatermass.

Plus... Only Fools And Horses, Alan Partridge, Ideal, Reggie Perrin (the original) Phoenix Nights, Spaced, Thin Blue Line, Green Wing, Fry and Laurie, Time Gentlemen Please, Midsomer Murders and Taggart.

Did you catch the remake of "Survivors" by any chance? I was enjoying that, until they just quit making them. :O( Could you pop by the BBC and get them back onto this project again, sometime?

I haven't even bothered with American TV for the past 15 years. No comparison.
