What is your favorite amusement park and why?

When you live in Ohio, you're entire summer is based and scheduled by what days you can go to cedar point.

Wildwood, I've spent some of the happiest times of my childhood there.

disney world!

Cedar Point in Sandusky, Ohio is my favorite amusement park. It's on Lake Erie, it's got a marina and beach, it's got the old-fashioned feel of parks from yesteryear, but also more roller coasters than anywhere else.

Disney World and Universal Studios of course. Nothing else comes close.

Lagoon in Utah cuz i just had the best of memories and times there! :)

Dollywood in TN. It's one of the closer ones to me that I've been going to since I was a baby.

............ Busch Gardens in Florida, and it was many, many years ago, still sticks in my mind as my favorite theme park.........

Well the closest to me is a very popular one (Cedar Point) but I don't like amusement parks :/

Dorney Park because it's the only one I've been to.

Cedar point Sandusky, OH!! Well, Duh!! It has the #1 best roller coaster in the world sense 2000!! And their rides never break down. They inspect them and build them very well! Unlike Disney and Six Flags.

You can go to all the beautiful 6 Flags, Universal or Disney properties, but one of the great "Old time" parks... Playland at Rye Beach New York.

At the end of the school year during grammar school, if you were a choir boy, altar boy, safety patrol, etc. you earned a ticket to Rye Beach. Perhaps the best part was the trip there and back. We would board a Ferry-type boat and board in Jersey City. We would then take the couple of hour trip up New York Harbor, past the Statue Of Liberty and Ellis Island, North up the east river, under the Brooklyn, Manhattan, Williamsburg - through Hells Gate, into the opening of Long Island Sound... then we docked. Right at the park.

The Dragon Coaster was the first roller coaster I ever rode - all wooden of course... and when you were in 7th and 8th grades... you would definitely go swimming to see the girls in their 2 piece bathing suits. Not bikinis, and probably more fabric than what the kids wear going to the mall today. Still an exciting yet innocent time... and place. Playland! Rye, New York!

Dorney Park; before then, it was Six Flags Great Adventure in Jackson, New Jersey. Dorney Park just has so much more to offer for the family.

Cedar Point in Sandusky, Ohio!

we lucked out having this one practically in our back yard...lol

Yup, I'm about 1/2 hour away from it and have been almost my whole life. I worked there as a 3rd shift ride mechanic for a little while in 1994, in between graduating high school and going into the military. I actually haven't been there since 2003 though, between my wife not liking roller coasters and the prices getting crazy...$165 for a season pass now! It was $115 or so when I worked there, but I got in for free as an employee.

I'm sure getting a free pass was well worth working there! I'm not a huge coaster fan, but I still love it there. One of their new coasters (the name escapes me at this moment) actually takes like a 45 degree shot down and back...you'd have to be half crazy to ride it lol.

I might have to talk somebody into going there with me this year; curious to see how it has changed since 2003 (a lot from what I've been told). I'm bummed that the Demon Drop is gone though.

The Magnum XL-200 drops you 195 feet at a 60° angle, and up to 72 mph, so that new one you mention sounds relatively tame. I can tell some stories about the Magnum from when I worked there--I used to inspect the underside of the cars every single night and circle all the stress cracks in the frames with a grease pencil, and another guy would come along behind me and weld them. There was also a night when all of us were on our lunch break and there was a power outage, and we heard a loud crash come from the Magnum. Since the power was out and the air compressors couldn't run, the air pressure that held one of the trains in the air brakes on a hill bled down, the brakes released, and the train went rolling into the back of another one that was sitting in the station. We had to take the front half from one train and the back half from the other to make one good one. I remember lots of things about the other rides that make for good conversation whenever others are locked into their seat next to me going up the first hill...LOL
