It is a style that I will be happy to see gone in the near future. I mean I have no problem with people who just dress emo and that's all, but if you adopt the personality too, it's just stupid. It's SO annoying that there is a trend that encourages convincing yourself that you are depressed. You suddenly have 50 percent more of those stick thin people saying "I'm so fat". It damages the self esteem of people who aren't emo, which isn't fair at all.
Emo: a species deriving from when I man once tossed his black hair dye, ripped jeans razorblades, a Marilyn Manson album, and a tampon into a bonfire. the chemical reaction of these things formed a Man. this Man was physically and anatomically successfully formed. However this man contained alot of feelings and was more women then man. When his creator attempted to give the emotional product of awfulness(Coincidentally the worlds first "Emo") some form of egde or angst the Emo began to recite a poem and as he spoke these words brung the man to tears. they're were now two emos. These to Emos went into town to make members of Emoism. they rose their faith in popular locations such as Hot Topic, and Spencers. The faith of Emoism lasted about as long as the Grunge rock scene. four years into the world of emoism, Reality checks restored each emo to their natural state. curing them of there curse. and with each heavily sprayed all black strand of hair they turned to a nice golden tone. the world has been free of Emoism since approximately 2005. however they have been attempted to be recreate many times. these are what all people in the 90's and everyone in the pacific northwest in the early to late 2000's called a poser. I consider them to be so as well. Emo's did exist but they are Extinct.
You do realize calling yourself emo is stereotyping in itself right? how about you listen to your dark music and all that jazz but not go by a title that society created to label people who are afraid to ber themself.
I am trying to help people realize that emos are not all suicidal, are not always what people presume, and to remove the hate that people feel towards us. Emo is the only word that common people have close enough to what I am.
I am emo. :) And you make me laugh.
