IKR. It's a big comfort food in Caribbean countries but I honestly don't get the appeal.

It's generally mild, and very hearty/chunky. I eat everything in it except for plantains and the pigtail itself, cause I hate them. I usually prefer thin soups but this is good on a freezing cold winter day.

I can actually think of something grosser, chicken food souse. It's basically pickled chicken feet in lime juice with some random salad things like onions and lettuce.

I haven't had much of anything that is weird. When I was in Keelung Taiwan I tried what was supposed to be real Chinese Fried Rice. Not something you would want to eat in the United States. It had squid and pieces of octopus in it, with kelp and the smell was pretty bad. Bottom line could not pay me to eat that again.

Caviar is suppose to be so expensive and elegant to eat. When I tried it, it was so bland, and the only flavoring it had was the salt it was packed in. A true waste of money to try it.

I've eaten canned silk worm, which was terrible. I've also had ants which weren't bad, tasted like popcorn with salt. Oh and emu, emu was good. I like a lot of spicy foreign foods.

It's a soup that has hominy, tripe, veggies & a broth. There are several ways to make it but I grew up with the hominy added, not everyone does that. At any rate, yuck. Here's a pic.
