sorry I got no year for you. Its simply a time where America and Americans had a strong work ethic, where a mans word was his bond, where sharing with and helping ones neighbor was the norm, where God and country was not the beginning of some ACLU lawsuit but divine providence, where it meant something to be a proud American. These are things some of us still remember or learn from by studying REAL American history. Not the spun history of the left nor the right.
We are losing America because we are losing our founding fathers vision of this country, our history and our will be be the best we can be as God made us.
Today the only time most of us remember we are Americans is just after a tragedy, and that gets lost in the blame game right afterwards.

Its an idea, not a time, we have no more ideals or morals of common sense.
Or those of us that do, are shot down as racist or hate mongers for wanting to preserve our heritage, history and unique way of life. I think it was once called American exceptionalism.

I wish it was that simple. We cant compete anymore and American made goods are either too expensive or non existant. Unions are out of control with never ending demands for more, more and more putting us at a competitive disadvantage. That on top of excessive regulation and over burdening taxes. But I would GLADLY buy American if the things I needed on a regualr basis were made in America and affordable. Not made in China affordable either, just affordable. Id pay more for American but not at the price of over paying just so some Union bosses and politicians make a buck to push a progressive agenda. Then Im contributing to the downfall of my country too as well as having less dollars in my pocket.

Like I said its not a time, its an idea or belife if you will in America. Its never existed in many minds. You know, the ones who never knew of it before the indoctrination began. It started with Teddy Roosevelt, the first progressive in power. Your reply proves that.

I wasn't born when thatcher was about, and only came to the UK recently. But my parents are British and experienced her style of government. Her legacy lingers on in the memories of a lot of people, my father especially, like a bad tragedy that you can't get over, 30 years on and it still hurts.

The Thatcher era as it is known was an utter disaster for Britain. It should be a lesson to everyone, right wing draconian politics don't work. Remember Hitler.
