Inspector Gadget wasn't from Nickelodeon, either. It was one of DIC's first U.S. cartoons, and it ran in syndication, meaning it was picked up by each broadcast area's local networks. Nickelodeon ran re-runs of the series for awhile, but Inspector Gadget wasn't made for Nickelodeon.

If we can name a favorite cartoon that ran on Nickelodeon, not limited to series that were made by Nickelodeon themselves, then my favorites would have to be "The Mysterious Cities of Gold" and "Belle & Sebastian"! I miss the days when Nick ran foreign cartoon series on their network...those shows were better than most of the stuff they made themselves, (well, except for Avatar).

I grew up when Nick first introduced cartoons, and I can say that the best cartoon of all time on Nick is Avatar: The Last Airbender. Honorable Mention to Avatar: Legend of Korra and Invader Zim.

So many were enjoyable, like spongebob, rugrats, invader zim, angry beavers, AH real monsters, etc, basically anything from the 90s until 2000 was kick ass. Modern shows r kinda stupid. -_-
