hey ..dont take this question literally. its just for fun. i know the world can not physically be without color but i meant mentally. relax dont take it so seriously
I don't think that would ever happen. The world would always have some color in it. BUT: if humans could only see black and white, then that's a different story. Life would be the same. Except look like an old movie. But if that were true, then we really would know no different, except for the fact that maybe art wouldn't be as advanced, simply because if they couldn't see the color, then they probably wouldn't bother painting it.
Life is full of "what if"s. How do people learn and advance without thinking about things that are probably never going to happen? Science is a whole big jumble of what ifs.
What new knowledge are you going to get from pretty much anything on Sodahead? This question is categorized "fun" for a reason, because it's supposed to entertain you. If you think it's pointless and wastes time, then why bother wasting your precious time answering the question at all?
If it entertains some people and someone thinks deeply about the question, then it really isn't pointless after all because you had to think to answer it. Things like, "What color is your shirt?" are pointless. Questions in which you have to relate one thing to another or in which you have to think to answer, those are not pointless, no matter how stupid the question or answer itself is.
Your the one who said if we never thought about what if's we'd never advanced ourselves. Do you feel like you furthered your knowledge by this question?
Yes. That's what I said, because science is really a big jumble of what-ifs. For example, when people invented refrigerators, it was probably a process that started with, "What if I invented something in which people could store food for a long time?"
And yes, I did further my knowledge by this question. I now know the opinions of several people on this specific question. You can further your knowledge doing the simplest things if you want to, and if you really pay attention. It really depends on how you look at it.
I am not sure. There could be a person who's color blind, and the entire human race may become color blind if evolution requires it. But the whole world not being full of color? Not going to happen.
The question was what would happen if the whole world was black and white, not HOW that would happen.
Most what if's are educational, such as the ones used in science. Some people may find this educational, though, if they were writing a book, for example. They may decide to base their book on a world that's only black and white. A director of a movie might make their movie black and white because of this question. This particular what if may not be super educational, but it may influence people.
I pod.
Those were beautiful times though.(:
