What happened to "You're Welcome"...

Jersey Roze ♥Jwon's Cyar'ika ♥ 2012/06/12 20:36:16
No one says you're welcome anymore. When I say thank you to people, if they respond at all they say 1 of three things: "Yup", "no problem", or "I know".

Like really, who says I know?...
You!

Here we still say it, but we also use "no problem" once in a while.

i apologize i didn't know that bothered u , i'll have to work on it, thx for letting me know thought. don't ever be afraid to speak up when something is bugging u

I do. I'll also say "no problem," but "yup" and "I know" sound rude to me.

What's wrong with saying "No problem"? I agree that "Yup" and "I know" are pretty rude, though.

I always say that when somebody thanks me, either that or no problem because, as another user already said, it sounds more humble.

Thats very true....I took my 7 yr old nephew to a store and he held the door open to allow a couple in their 30s to exit before we entered. They didnt even look at him, never mind a thank you.He looked at me and asked me why wasnt he thanked for doing a nice thing.
I told him that doing nice things for people is a reward itself. I personally wanted call them a pair of Ass wipes.

I know, right. It's as if most have taken on the attitude of South Africans. I quite often get responses such as, "No worries," or other idioms from that region of the world.

Common courtesy has pretty much left most US Americans.

I say it all the time. I find it rarely hurts to be polite, and while many of my posts here may not reflect it, I also subscribe to the belief you can catch more flies with honey than you can with vinegar.
