What does your pet do when he/she wants attention?

..........Our two shared lab retriever mixed breed dogs, Barney and Lexy used to slowly circle and lie down next to where I was seated, I knew that was a signal that they wanted to be fed, or let outside in Our fenced back yard, for their personal time, after that I was there to let them Both back in again, pet them as they would again lie down relaxed to play or nap....... I sure miss them, " my ex wife abruptly moved while We were divorced, and took Barney and Lexy with Her......... " I sure miss them, but I don't even know where they are now, and whether they are alive or dead..........I won't any pets anymore, as the result of what happened...........

It is heartbreaking to lose pets. I'm sorry you lost yours in that way.

My cat will begin trying to get in where I don't want her to, banging cabinet doors, out of boredom I'm sure.. since Mommy is wrapped up in S H sometimes.. ; ) She will "Meow", too, but not much, thank God. I always make sure she has whatever she needs.. but I just need to jump up and play a game with her for a bit.

I had a cat who banged the kitchen cupboards. Previous cats have also been very vocal but my current kitty isn't much of a meower. She sometimes smacks me when I walk past her.

Yes, this one has done that too, though not lately.. I don't know if she is trying to get me to chase her like she would another cat or has some "misunderstanding".. because there won't have been an obvious reason beforehand. Over time, I will notice changes, like wanting to come up and lay on me more, providing I brush her.. then I will show her she can have a "massage" just with Mama's hands and becomes relaxed. I find they are all a bit different and since she was deemed a "stray" from the shelter and young, I think she wasn't socialized and is skittish around others and loud noises.

Some are more affectionate, needy, or vocal. My first male cat was VERY affectionate and talkative so I thought they all would be. He also did that "kneading thing" while purring with his eyes closed.. I loved that. I guess just like all relationships, they bring their own specialness, don't they? Some like being picked up and carried and others don't.. which is too bad.

Yes, you are right, they all have their own personalities. I do have a theory that there is some correlation between the colouring/variety of cat and the personality. the cats I have had that swatted me as I went by seemed to be saying that I was moving back and forth too much and not staying in one place where they wanted me too. These were cats that felt compelled to be with me al the time and followed me everywhere.

Haha.. maybe so. I notice mine will follow me around, like when I leave the room to look for something and return quickly.. here she comes as I'm coming back. Other times, she seems more content to just stay where she was. One thing for sure, we build these relationships and see changes develop. Wouldn't be without a pet.

Me neither. I love having animals living with me.

We have 2 puppies and one of them will attack the other one to get all the attention. My cat will cry and cry until you give him attention and he will get on your chest and stare at you while crying. Sometimes when your trying to sleep he will kick you until you get out of the way

LOL-cats love to sit on your chest to get attention. Mine does that too. I've had many cats but never one that kicked me! Did you mean lick or does your cat really kick?

He kicks he refuses to lick anybody

My cat licks, but that isn't always nice. I once had two cats-they were siblings- and the girl would always want whatever spot the boy was sleeping in. She would try to be really irritating to make him get up and leave. She would lick all his fur backwards. But he was really laid back and just put up with it. Eventually she would give up and just snuggle up to him.

It was pretty funny since he was a long haired cat and it was like someone took the hair gel to him and spiked him.

my dog just sits there and stares at you with his ears up and his head tilted, and my cat never asks for my attention (always my mom's) so i don't know what he does...

yes he has...he kinda looks at you like this...then again that dogs looks like him...

I had a dog that looked sort of like that. She was a mix of German Shepherd and golden lab.

omg so is mine! he looks like a lab, and acts like a german shepherd. he is 14 years old, but he still acts like a year old! lol

My dog was hit by a car when I was still a little girl, she didn't live past four years old. She was the sweetest, gentlest, most loving dog you could ever have. I'm glad that is what your dog is. I have always thought there should be lots of those dogs in the world. Give yours a hug for me. I am little bit teary eyed thinking about my dog and yours. I remember that when I cried my dog would snuggle close to me and lick my tears.

i am almost POSSITIVE of that! lol Phelony was the greatest dog...when Peenutt (my dog) first came to the house, he had never known what it was like to have a mom, so Phelony filled that hole in his heart and treated him like her own <333 i miss her so much she was like a mother to everyone in the family. it just sucks so much that she's gone...;^(

I have had many pets but there are two who are very special and long gone, but I still miss them very much today. All animals are wonderful but some really touch your heart. We are lucky to have such an experience.

i think that SAME thing to me everyday when i see my picture of Phelony and Peenutt curled up together in the backyard sleeping <333

my little kitten meows,attacks feet,runs around crazy,jumps on the beds and then off, tries to climb up walls,ect.

She has a lot of energy. It can hurt when they attack your feet. Those claws and teeth are sharp!
