I don't say it, unless I'm joking around. Seems like a pretty narcissistic thing to say. Of course, I'm me, but the people who say that often, usually do it to self-justify bad behavior.

Is that not the basis of an adult relationship two adults being themselves being able to ping various things off one another with the understanding end of the day acceptance is a given. Unless of course you find out the person is leading a dangerous self destructive lifestyle then that might be a deal breaker nobody want to be in a train wreck.

I am running slow tonight. I just don't understand what you are asking. Is it like when someone says it is what it is? Basically, stating that you may not approve but this is my life and I want to do this no matter how it effects you?
It stinks because there is no good outcome. Someone ultimately gets hurt. But it is what it is. LOL

It doesn't affect me in the least, everyone has to be something, just as everyone has to be somewhere. Proclaiming that "I have to be me" is an irrelevance. You are already you, and stating the fact wont change it. The need to state the obvious only shows a conflict within yourself, and in your own mind, about who you really are, or wish to be.

Just saying :)
