    A turtle's shell is part of its spinal structure, so it would be impossible to remove a turtle's shell without exposing its guts.

    Not quite sure, but I'm fairly certain it would be dead. The turtle's shell, is in some way connected to their skeletal system >.> De-shelling a turtle to see 'what it would look like' isn't really a good idea....If you're that curious I'm sure google may be able to answer your question though.
