What do 'You' use to clean off your laptop screen if something has spashed on it, like soda, that would not scratch the screen.......My niece had asked me and I didn't really know since I just usually dust mine off.

All I use is a few soft tissues. One soaked with water (no chemicals) to give the screen a good wash and one or two to buff it dry. It works best when the screen is warm and shut it off and turn it towards a light source during cleaning so that you can see the areas that need the most cleaning. If done right it doesn't leave a residue or streaks. Rule of thumb: Avoid chemicals at all costs.

I use my iPhone cloth, and sometimes a wet one, and I heard that resolve is great to use. My brother-in-law works on computers and said resolve is the best.

A soft micro-fiber cloth works best. They are usually "tacky" or mildly sticky which actually helps remove things from the dirty surface. These cloths are usually cheap and usually sold in packs of 2-5 for a few dollars (even dollar store ones will be fine). They're also useful for cleaning water spots off of dishes and wiping your eyeglasses. I also suggest you pick up some of this: lcd cleaner
It's specially made to clean LCD panels. Many times, it comes packaged with a microfiber cloth.

You're actually not supposed to use that stuff, if you need any moisture to get a smudge off, you get your cloth only a little bit wet, just enough so that it will do the job

Actually , any small amount of eye glass lens cleaner applied to a cloth/Cheese cloth, micro-fiber,or non scented non lotion-ed Kleenex brand soft tissue then gently applied to your screen. Lens cleaner is often great for resisting dust and other smudges. Best of luck M.

or at least washing your hands and face. In the wild, I might let a dog lick a wound but this slobbering kissing in the face. Not so much.

I use a mix of 50% water, and 50% White Vinegar. And a soft cloth. Dampen the cloth, and wipe gently, do not use force, Just keep cleaning the screen. And make sure the power and monitor are turned off. If you press to hard, you can scratch the screen, no matter what type it is.

I simply use cool water and a micro fiber cloth. Get it wet then squeeze out as much water as you can. Wipe it down and let it air dry. Or possibly dry it off with a dry micro fiber cloth.

I think the micro fiber cloths are kind of like a multi purpose cloth and can use them for just about anything.

Use a flannel cloth doused in 50% rubbing alcohol.

50% rubbing alcohol will not crack or dry the screen with repeated use. The only place I can find it that weak is at the dollar store.

Only use a flannel cloth after they've been washed once or twice already, not while they are new.

Try using cheese cloth with some cleaner on it Duke. When I was in the Air Force working F-16's we used cheese cloth to clean the canopy's. I also use it to clean my windshield on my motorcycle. It's plastic so will scratch very easy so I can get in and scrub the heck out of it with the cheese cloth without worrying. (edited to add content)

I use Apple cider vinegar mixed 2/3 vinegar and 1/3 water for almost all of my cleaning, including my computer screen! Other cleaning solution I like is straight generic listerine. Not the colored or scented, because that leave a film, just to regular old plain listerine... works fantastic! (But the vinegar is even cheaper is possible.. so use that more often). I don't spray directly on computer screen..., but onto a paper towel and then wipe.

NEVER USE WINDEX ON A COMPUTER SCREEN. It can leak into the screen and destroy the display - even more than might already be done. Go to your local Best Buy or other electronics store and they have cleaner you can purchase to use.
