i think its someone who is always there no matter what who knows that you are not perfect and stay by your side after knowing your flaws it is someone who will have your back all the time simply because he is your friend :D

I asked for your thoughts on "Friends". 'what do you think a friend is?', and you deliberately took the definition from the dictionary. You can't say with Honesty that you thought that's what I was asking for.

The definition is what I think a friend is... I prefer to use words with accuracy.
