depends on the person.. some think its cool.. other get it for meaning.. i love my tats and have no regrets..

It is art. That is all. Art that you might put on the wall because you like to look at it, you put on your body. That's all. For me, it is not about being cool. My personal tattoo is covered most of the time. No one would know I had it at work.

Like all art, it's subjective. What is a thing of beauty to me, may be objectional to you.

I have tattoos of my kids names and my mother's service number but they're personal, for me. They're in places that you won't see them unless i specifically show you (the inside arch of my foot, on my side just under where my bra strap goes) so no it's not because it's 'cool' or 'macho'. It's for me. No one else.

I don't even understand why they got tattoed. Some people I know who got it would say, "They remind me of so many important events in my life." so they marked it and got inked.
