What do you think of Suicide?...

I believe it's the most selfish and thoughtless thing a person can do. No wonder most religions say that suicides can't go to heaven. However, I am all for euthanasia as long as all involved can agree with it.

Its like, I can't figure out why people do it. It must be there are in a "fog," and cannot see any way out. [Which of course is different than the fleeing felon the police corner in an abandoned building.]

Personally, yes, I do believe suicide is wrong. However, each suicide is different in some ways, and while I still feel it's ultimately wrong, there are times when it leaves the simple right or wrong argument and goes much deeper into the human condition. I'm sure some people were insane, others horribly depressed and still others just trying to cry out for help. Suicide is a difficult thing to understand, because you can never talk to the one's who succeed in doing it. It's a very sad thing for those left behind, and personally I feel bad for the person who committed the suicide as well. Many say it's the chicken way out, and I'm sure for some it was. But, personally I feel that others simply struggle with life or health problems and just don't see way out. May God bless those who have been so tormented that they have taken this tragic action. And may God bless those loved one's left behind in the aftermath of something so difficult to understand.

i know it's wronge and selfish but i stilled tried about 12 years the only good out come was that my husband relized that he has to help out at home more

I think it depends on the person, their life, and the whole situation basically.

We are kinder to the suffering of a dog, than we are to human suffering. We should allow folks the right to choose to die in dignity, free of suffering and pain.

True. Suicide isn't the end of the frigging world for anyone else. Plus who would want someone to stay alive and suffering? That is just sick.

It's a very selfish thing to do. You have no idea the pain and suffering you inflict on the people you leave behind.

I believe it depends on the circumstances. You wouldn't call someone who pushed a person from in front of a bus and got themselves killed selfish would you?

no...you make a valid point but, your life ending to save someone else is a little different then just ending your own life because you can't deal.

I disagree. It is not suicide. That person does not "want" to die. I'm sure if he/she had the choice they would save the person from in front of the bus AND save themselves. But when one person saves another person in a rescue that's risking your life, not committing suicide. "For greater love hath no man than this: That he give up his life for his friends." (John 15:13). If you think about it, Jesus Christ did not commit suicide, he was killed by the sins of man. He didn't have to die. He could have stopped it right then and there. But a price had to be paid for the sins of man. Just as a price had to be paid in the situation you brought up. Jesus did not commit suicide, but he did offer to give His life for the salvation of mankind.

If you're willing to die yourself to save another, I would call that a "want" to die.

you must be mental to commit suicide or even think of suicide
the ONLY time it is okay to commit suicide is if you have an uncurible illness and have so long to liive and are in pain everyday then you can end your pain early and stop the peole around you from feeling your pain other than that its selfish and stupid

yeah but what if they had hurt u first?

so out of everyone a person could possibly know friends parents, significant others, childeren, family- all of them hurt u? and even if they all did, that doesn't stop ALL of them from caring enough about u 2 b hurt by ur suicide.

My mother committed suicide. I was 14 years old and my sister was 10. Now that I'm older, I feel compassion for my mother as she must have been desolate enough that she didn't see any other solution, but I do believe that I will always harbor at least a little resentment that her decision affected our lives in ways that we will live with forever. I have always been more angry at her for leaving my sister who was so young to have to deal with such a thing. My sister and I have moved on, you have to, but there will always be a certain part of us that will live with that devastation.

From a biblical standpoint it's a ticket on the hell express.
From a secular standpoint it's weak, lame, stupid and any other word that equals quitter.
I believe there's grace for those in extreme physical pain but that's between you and God.
I wouldn't waste my breath talking about someone that offed themselves.
In fact I've got suggestions for any lames that want to get insurance to pay off.
The trick is don't leave a note and you have to be sober.

i think that the people that do this they have big problems and they dont want to get help and the only way to deal with it is though suicide and they are running way from their problems.
when i was 6 or 7 my dad died by suicide and living with out my dad is so hard, and if you know anyone that has real bad problems try to help them..

tts wa most ppl think of when life sux n nobody cares, but it is wrong, but then tts y ppl like me can help the unloved ones n be loved :))))
