What do you fear?

★Calliope★ 2012/08/09 07:24:11

-----------------------------------------------------------...
What stories, movies, things that go bump in the night, make you cringe? What animal or creepy crawly reduce you to a jiggling mass of humanity?
What do you fear What do you fear What do you fear do you fear clowns do you fear monsters
Fear can be a very useful emotion.

And it darn sure gets the blood pumping.

So what are your fears? I hate spiders and bats. I mean, really. The bats in particular. I know they can't hurt me. I know this intellectually. But have one fly near and I become a ducking, crawling and blathering fool. I even know that darn bat is probably scared guano-less of me.

Scary movies never seem to frighten me. Some startle - like the gal that got hit by that bus in one of the Final Destination movies but really, I'm not scared.

I think I'm more afraid of the real life monsters.

The movie monsters and book monsters and villains don't scare me. Parts of real life scare me. Sometimes a whole lot.

What say you?

I've heard this quote a number of times "
Each time we face our fear, we gain strength, courage, and confidence in the doing. "

I'm terribly sorry.

Each time I face my fear, my voice gets a little more high-pitched and I'm sure my tether to this side of the dirt is worn away just a scoche.

Rotten bats, anyway.

You!

I was just trying those on. I go for a less casual top with heels. Something more like this.

I fear failure, especially failing my friends and family. I'm also afraid of the dark. I know it's babyish but I can't help it every time I'm in the dark I think of all the scary movies I've watched. And trust me I've tried thinking about other things and that the movies I watch aren't real or true but, I just can't help but think about them. And actually I guess I'm not afraid of the dark, I'm afraid of what might be in the dark and what my mind tells me could be in the dark.

Please don't let anyone trivialize your fears. Fear is good and necessary in some circumstance!

That should scare a whole bunch of other folks.

But it doesn't. They expect to be taken care of.

REAL fear - only the Lord (I'm beginning to be wise); wasps, hornets, etc. do raise my pulse-rate just a tad, though...

I used to be petrified of wasps. Then I got stung.

It wasn't a walk in the park, but I had blown it so huge, I thought I'd be incapacitated. It really was no big deal. My fear was so much worse than the actual sting.

Yeah, I've been stung several times, and agree - the reality is not nearly as bad as the fear... Still get a raise in the pulse when I see one flying near, though!

I was on a bike going around a tight corner, leaning way over.... yellow jacket landed on my leg, and I had to let it alone because I could not take my hands off the bars till I came out of the curve.... stung me good...

Alas... I'll probably go out ridden with dementia and peeing my depends. I'm hoping my family will remember me for the good stuff.

Everytime I find myself in fear, I analyze it and figure out where it came from. I like logic. So, for the most part, I don't have a lot of fears.
God says to "fear not" over 365 times. So, I guess I shouldn't.

Sometimes I'm just a ding dong. I'd being going "Oh look at bat!" The other day my running partner were running down a hill in the mountains and a moose jumped up on the trail. I'm thinking "Cool, moose!" and he's pulling out his pepper spray. I guess one of us had a mind. LOL

I think it was a maybe two year old that probably just got kicked to the curb by mom. The next week I'm taking a new girl on the run and I saw a pretty big tree move. I told her to slow down and see what it was. Its a was a mama moose and her calf. Probably the mom that kicked the other one out.
They are pretty cool to see up close. Love the woods. You can come run with me anytime.

Fun
