I'd move to France in a heartbeat if I could figure out how. When I was a teenager I did a student exchange in Vichey. What fun we had!!! What part do you live in?
I live in Paris, always have. Renting an apartment here is terribly expensive! Less so in many "provinces". I have visited Vichy only once, actually. I was a "French teaching fellow" at Bowdoin Collge, Brunswick, ME...back in 1960-61! I enjoyed the experience, but in those days there was a HUGE gender gap, Bowdoin was an all-male college...I was later drafted into the military, not many young ladies either - except the officers' and NCOs' daughters, and a few secretaries. We were only allowed to watch them, not openly, though!
Wow! I live quite close to Bowdon! After your dearth of women you made it to Paris. No lack of females there! How wonderful. I loved Paris, although I was there in 1977 and haven't made my way back. I don't think I could live there though. Too crowded. I've got to have room to breathe. There was a crepearie, (probably spelled wrong) in Vichey. They must have had 200 different kinds of crepes on the menu. We ate there morning, noon and night. What lovely memories.
I wish I could live in my dream country Canada :)
