What Book Would You Like to See Turned Into a Movie?

Níl mé leat 2012/06/26 19:24:41
Since Hollywood seems to be on this trend what book(s) have you read that you would love to see up on the big screen? Any thoughts as to casting?

While it was made into a movie it was done as a 'Made for TV' movie and was a horrible disappointment.

The book I'm referring to is "Shogun" by James Calvell.
As to casting, I think perhaps Russel Crowe would do well in the role of Blackthorne .
Only the incomparable Toshiro Mifune would be worthy of the role of Toranaga, the one redeeming quality of the TV mini-series. I know of no current actors who could do the role justice.

I'd like to see that and his entire vampire set turned in to movies. Bloodsucking Fiends- Bite Me would be funny as heck and a lot more interesting than current vamp offerings.

I love his take on vampires. He found the prefect balance between creepy and funny that makes a book worth reading.

Lullaby by Jean Marie LeClezio...it's a french short story and it changed my life. We always see the same suspense books and romance books turned into movies but seriously this story if turned into a movie, will be nothing like anything you've ever seen. It's so overwhelming.

A couple actually, "The Monkey Handlers" by G. Gordon Liddy. Another is "Nano", I can't remember the Author but it was a really cool book ! It was about a nano tech that was exploited and the defense turns out worse then it !

Sarah by JT Leroy. They already made the heart is deceitful above all things but Sarah would be cool with the now grown up Sprouse Bros also bringing back Asia Argento.

I would like to say some R. A. Salvatore novels, but those might be a little too difficult to do, and there are just too many. I would really like to see some of David Eddings' novels, though. Perhaps The Elenium trilogy followed by the Tamuli trilogy? I couldn't help but laugh almost every time that Aphrael showed up. XD
