"MEDICINE HAT, Alta. (CP) - As Canada's youngest convicted multiple killer stood weeping in the prisoner's box, the 12 jurors who found her guilty Monday of murdering her family filed silently past, staring at the ground to avoid her gaze.
The jurors walked out of court in a single line, close enough to touch the 13-year-old girl, after taking little more than three hours to decide her guilt on three counts of first-degree murder in the grisly killings of her mom, dad and eight-year-old brother.

20218 2007/07/10 15:55:55I Agree+9And yes - I know there are those who will once again argue manipulation and corruption and even brain washing of a minor. Murder is still murder. At 13 she's still old enough to understand that death is permanent. That murder is both a crime and a sin (against not only God but against all mankind). Regardless of the 23 year old's influence, if she's guilty she's guilty. Ya - this is one of those times where I resort to the old "black and white" or "cut and dried" stance lol. You all know where to send the nasty letters rebuking me for being such a cold, heartless S.O.B. lol.

first off, what is a 13 year-old doing dating a 23 year-old? (or rather the other way around)
second, she must be insane to do that.
I definitely need more information to come to a good decision about that though.

WTF?! Let them both stay in prison !!!
What was the motive behind it? Not that it really matters as murder is murder, I'm just interested.
There shouldn't be any leniency just because she is 13. At that age she is a minor but NOT a child and should understand and take the consequences for her actions.
WOW !!!
a better lawyer who would have made sure she was evaluated by a
psychiatrist. She is not mentally stable and for a man that age to date
a girl so young, he isn't either.
the chit is not going to be in there very long anyways. The thing that gets me is she claims "she was scared of Steinke after he killed her parents, but couldn't strike the fatal blow." Then how come she is going to marry him? Also when I was 12 / 13 I knew right from wrong. So she is accountable for her actions. But to bring up God to her at this point would be .. she would ignore it she is a satin worshipper. According to Canadian law, Jasmine, now 13, can only be sentenced to a maximum of 10 years in prison, and no more than six can be served while in custody. I feel so sad for her brother. I just don't get why him? Sooo sad
