Full service gas stations..if you have car trouble now good luck finding help...I miss stores being closed on Sundays and Holidays ..I miss good decent TV programs with no cussing ....I miss women wearing dresses the majority of the time..I grew up when all girls had to wear dresses to school ect..wouldn't want that again but women need to dress more conservatively again..more feminine...miss families being together or visiting like they use to...mine still does but there are many that don't even know their families...miss the media not trashing everyone...and decent celebrities that kept their noses cleaner in public..miss everyone going to church..most people went to some church when I grew up..now few go regularly or at all. I miss going to Woolworths and sitting at the snack bar...Drive-In threaters with petting zoos....milk man and the bread man...

We had one here, and I had my 10th birthday party there. They put a big silver bowl full of ice cream on a stretcher, and carried it out while running around to ringing bells and sirens. Then a bunch of employees would sing happy birthday. They had a section at the front, full of candy like licorice whips and paper dots! Those were the days!

I remember Two Guys. I believe it was actually Two Guys from Vornado. Due to blue laws, certain items could not be sold on Sundays. Clothing was one of these items. They would rope off the clothing department so you could not get to the clothes. For some odd reason if the clothing was in the sports department, which was open on Sundays, you could purchase it.

Being young and having more energy, going to my grandma's farm, my '56 Chevy convertible, my first love, dating sailors from Great Lakes Navel Base, my mom's cooking, no worries, and, I'm sure, much more.

Going to and staying over night at Grandma and Grandpas' house, they always had my aunts or uncles stopping by and they always brought their kids, Grandmas cooking and Grandpas humor, never a dull moment. The game--red light green light--do kids even play that anymore?

GOING TO NEIGHBORHOOD STORE --THE WOODEN FLOORS , A PLACE WHERE ALMOST EVERYONE HAD A CHARGE ACCOUNT -- YOU COULD DO SOME GROCERY SHOPPING AND TELL THE OWNER ( WILLIE) CHARGE IT. WHEN MOM AND DAD WOULD HAVE US RUN OVER THERE ON ARRAND TO GET MILK OR SOMETHING WE WOULD SNEAK A FEW PIECES OF CANDY AND TELL THE OWNER TO CHARGE IT. EVERYTHING WAS HAND WRITTEN ON A TAG AND A CARBON COPY WAS GIVEN TO US TO GIVE TO MOM AND DAD --THAT OWNER NEVER WOULD WRITE THE CANDY DOWN ON THE CHARGE SLIP -- WILLIE WAS A GOOD OLD GUY , HE ALWAYS WAS GIVING THE KIDS CANDY AND THOSE LONG PRETZELS --NO ONE DOES THAT ANY MORE --I MISS THAT

Good movies that were wholesome and relied on good writing and a plot line.
Now maybe I sound like I'm from the Stone Age here, but it's hard to find one geared to people over the age of 12 that doesn't resort to foul language, nudity, details "hitting the sheets" , etc. It would be nice to see a flick where I comfortably sit in the same room with my elderly parents or mixed company.

The Good Humor Man ! Milk delivered to the door (could hear the truck at about 4 a.m.) 45 rpm records, "sock" hops, little league baseball games where the parents "DID NOT" get involved and let us have fun. Cushman Eagle motor scooters, riding in my dads truck (with no seat belt) standing in the front seat, right next to him. Drives in the country with virtually no other traffic around. The thing I miss most, the sound of my Grandmother's voice waking me up when I would spend time with her, her hugs and kisses that always made me feel better, know matter how badly I had been "damaged" by the world around me !

I really miss Drive-In movies the most! Nothing like watching a movie on the big screen in comfort of your car. There was just something about it that made it more of an event then just sitting in a dark theater. And you could neck and do things you just can't get by with in a Movie theater. Ahhh those warm summer nights at the Drive-In those are some fond memories. Even cold nights when you would take blankets with you to bundle up were good fun.

playground equipment I could get hurt on. Slides that were metal, fast and taller than 6 feet. Big jungle gyms that a kid could climb 8 feet high on and possibly break a bone if he fell.

I feel sad for these kids who have 4 foot high plastic play ground equipment. They look so boring and stale. I was an acrobat with the stuff I played on as a kid. I wonder if future generations are going to grow up without ever getting a scar....
