We have a lot of great State parks where you can swim, camp, hike and sometimes check out a free concert. Some have lakes, some ponds, others are beaches along Long Island Sound. If you're really adventurous you can crash one of the "private" beaches (it can be done if you behave!). Rocky Neck State Park

There's fantastic beaches with all the activities that come with that. There's, yep, great restaurants and a lot of history, national park reserves and military attractions (museums and airshows). There's a thriving down-town night life, if you're up to it, and plenty of great shopping.

All of the above, plus drive down to Galveston. Forget barbeque though, Houston has excellent Sushi, Indian, Thai, anything you like to eat. There is even a place near here where you can get a fine plate of tilapia , then let the kids ride a pony.

You should really have an "other" category. Or even "none of the above." As in, there is literally nothing in the area surrounding my college. Well, there's a military base and a nuclear power plant. But, yeah, other than that there is nothing....

Lots and lots of parks. Plenty of places to hike, camp, fish, etc. I live in a very rural area, the nearest mall/restaurants/shops are 20 minutes away.

There is Seattle Center, including The Space Needle, Pacific Science Center, EMP, and other stuff.
There are a lot of restaurants of just about every ethnic variety. There are a number of waterfront areas to enjoy. We have a couple of nearby zoos and a few malls and several nice parks. Boeing has a really cool Museum of Flight.
There is plenty to do in and near Seattle, WA.

In my town there is so much to do and see depending on your pleasure.
We have a wonderful selection of fine small restaurants with regional and international cuisines, antique stores, art galleries and a dinner train. Pleasure boating and bass fishing on our lakes. We have miles of biking tours and we are a birders mecca. Each year we have a regional Art Festival, Civil War re-enactments and motorcycle week. Come on down or look us up. Mount Dora, Florida.
