No. I think the sun will rise on Dec 22 just like always. But I do believe that we are getting very close to the end of times. Just not on Dec 21, 2012.

The calendar on my wall ends December 31st. I do not think the world will end then either.

No one knows when the world is going to end. I don't trust the Mayan calender anymore then I trust the crazy bearded man holding a sign on the street corner.

Nope .... the latest scientific estimate is about 1 billion years for life as we currently know it and about 7.5 billion years until the sun 'captures' the earth and starts pulling it ever closer to it, eventually burning the earth to a 'crisp'.

You believe in that? :') Lmfao.
You should study more about the Mayan Calendar, all it does is mark the end of one cycle and starts again. By the way, they found a new Mayan calendar. Doomsday delayed? :p --> http://www.youtube.com/watch?...

They keep saying 2012 but I don't think that will happen, lol. Earlier, people predicted that the world would end in 2000 but no it didn't. Various dates were predicted but none of them ever came true.
I think it WILL come to end someday, I'm researching on it, but now this year or any time soon :)

If you study some of the drawing from the Mayans they do not show the world ending. They show mankind ascending. The pictures that they drew showed man walking upward . With every ending there is a new beginning. Astrologically it is the cusp of the new age. An age where advance thinking and new ideas will come more to the forefront. But it also shows some Earth changes. But that happens all the time.

The Mayan calendar is cyclical that means it always has a new cycle for every year so this cycle will not end it will just move to the newest one

The Mayans didn't think the world was going to end, that's just where that long calender ends.

Why would the Mayan's know so much so long ago? With all our technology and fang dangled things we can't even get an accurate weather prediction a week in advance.

We still have whats left of the dispensation of Grace, the tribulation, and the 1000 year reign of Christ on earth, and then the end.

I wouldn't say there's NO possibility, but it won't be because some people believe that the Mayan calendar says so.

I agree that you will very most likely not die (99.9999999999999999999999%) of an apocalyptical event before Christmas. But just in case some natural event occurs, like a simultaneous global volcanic event or unidentified asteroid strike, I'll hold you to that. Oh wait...we'd both be dead. Personally, I am making my New Year's Eve plans. I was just saying that NOTHING is guaranteed and NOTHING is impossible. Merry Christmas, John.

The mayans calendar has ended several times already. They just started it again from the beginning. End of the world stuff is modern hype.

Actually the Maya calendar never said anything about the world ending. It is western culture that eventually made turned one reference into panic. For the Maya, it was the end of the long count calendar and the beginning of a new one, no world ending. But leave it to fear mongerers and bad hollywood movies to spread such ridiculous panic.

Although I doubt it will end I was watching weird or what and there is a super volcano under Yellowstone that could erupt at anytime just like in the movie 2012. It's pretty freaky stuff. There is also an Earthquake near La that could wipe out all of California again just like the movie. I'm not saying I believe the world will end I'm just stating the facts.

No. Conspiracy theories aside, the world will continue as it has. The current Mayan calendar only covers the cycle for which it was created. Our understanding of Mayan relics and history suggests that a new cycle would begin at the end of the current one. Thanks to the Spaniards having nearly wiped out any existing Mayan culture, it is more likely that the Mayans simply never got around to creating a new calendar to cover the next cycle.
