I watch waaaay too many movies and TV shows for my own good even if only for one episode. I can usually tell when people have been in something else before. If I saw some dude with the cameras followling him around I'd probably think he was being stuck up having all those people follow him and just walk away.

Discussed this at work today. The point made was that where we live, and taking cues from our grandparents, never was celebrity impressive (unless pride from some local becoming locally well known). Working in the hospitality business (and also trucking) I have had more than enough "celebrity" encounters...the luster fades and they become just another person on the street...those that are approachable are great to talk with; those that have a gaggle following are best to be avoided. Would I be fooled?...Probably not.

"I heard his first single and it was good, I can't remember the name of it, though" Wow. Just wow. I like some celebrities, but mostly I don't even notice them. If I saw him, I'd probably just walk right by, and if there was a fuss, I'd look, see I hadn't a clue who he was, and walk on. I don't understand how having bodyguards and paparazzi instantly makes you famous, and a good kind of famous. Imagine finding out the next day that he was a criminal, and people kept wanting photos saying they were a fan? The embarrassment :L I really thought people thought about things a lot more... I mean, I'm not one to think EVERYTHING I do through, but simple things are supposed to come naturally :P

If I recognized a celebrity, I might say hello. But I do not make it a point to fall all over someone just because someone else thinks they are famous. If you respect someone's work tell them.

It doesn't take much to fool most people. I fooled a bunch of people in Austin once into thinking I was a local DJ. We were at a show sponsored by the radio station and I ran into the actual guy who was trying to get out of the area but he had a bunch of swag to give away still. he gave it all to me and said "hey. pretend to be me and get rid of this stuff!" I was drunk and so i was like cool! Most of the people believed me LOL. It was kind of fun.

No, but really, it's not because I'm smarter than that, it's because I don't care. Even if it was someone famous, I'd just turn my head and that's it. I'm just the type who doesn't care.

Hell no. I don't give a damn about anyone being 'followed by cameras'. This just goes to highlight how pathetic people in this country are in their obsession with celebrity. Like cattle to the slaughter, you could lead them right in and... done.
