No, ladies and gentlemen, this isn't a joke. Japan actually has a "Saturday Night Live" spinoff.

Here's the intro to the new Japanese version of SNL that premiered last weekend. It's very similar to the US intro! They even got Don Pardo (or someone who sounds a lot like Don Pardo) to do the voiceover!

The show airs once a month -- unlike the U.S. version, which airs weekly -- and it's broadcast live. Check it out and let us know what you think.

    We took, Pokemon, Yu Gi Oh, Digimon, Power Rangers, Sonic the Hedgehog, and a TON of anime from them, so I say let them do their own SNL.

    i've seen their commercials alone and yeah...them doing snl would be ummm interesting. but whatever makes them happy, just don't think it could beat ours. ive commercials yeah snl ummm interesting happy beat japanese commercials

    Would have been more awesome if they had someone dressed up like Justin Timberlake; though honestly that host guy's jump reminded me of what Conan O'Brien does with his opening to every show. XD

    It would of been better if we were able to see a whole skit and something with subtitles.

    The host looks like he was trying to be Conan O'Brien with that jump.

    I don't think it would be that funny. But again would be better if this video was longer.

    It's kind of neat I guess but I couldn't stand how they switched off between reading the person's first or last name. It showed 3 people and called the first by their first name, the second by their last, and the third by their first. I found that confusing. I imagine that I wouldn't understand it and I think it's just a ripoff show. It should still be funny.
