WATCH > Is This 'Flour Gone Wrong' Video Real or Fake?

Hypothetical situation: you're a kid and your mom has just discovered that you've demolished the house with a huge bag of flour. Does she a) make a YouTube video of her reaction, b) scream at the top of her lungs until the neighbors show up or c) send you to your room and ground you for eternity?

Most people would typically respond with either a B or C -- but one mother decided to go with an A, which has the whole World Wide Web raising its eyebrows.

As of yesterday, there's been a YouTube video circulating around the web of a mother who's (allegedly) just discovered that her two little boys have trashed the house with a 5lb bag of flour.

And just as quickly, there's been speculation that the video is a fraud because the mom's reaction is simply too mild-mannered for someone who's just come to the realization that her house is a big fat mess because of her two boys, who don't seem to be too worried about the repercussions of what they just did. (Any little kid who's ruined anything in their house will tell you that there will be a crazy time-out session, if not a spanking.)

What do you have to say about the video? Is it a real reaction -- or an absolute fake?

The flour on the pictures, window sills and on top of the TV convinced me. I guess mom has a whole lot of time on her hands, she's gonna need it to clean up HER mess.

I think the video is fake 1 because a mum would be that cam 2 because I don't think she even punished them for it and 3 because if I did soming like that I would have got my sorry to say this but I woul have got my arse tanned so red and sore at that age and I am 17 and I would still get my bum tanned if I let my youger brother do that

I do not think it is fake. I mean...it could be, but it's more likely that she doesn't want the entire world to hear her have a freak-out yelling at her two young sons! If it were me, I certainly would not record myself screaming like a crazy lady at my babies, haha. Also, If she had already yelled at them the little boy would not be asking her what was wrong. He probably wouldn't be talking...or playing with the flour. And if she had already yelled at them and sent them back in to "play" it is highly unlikely the little boy would be asking such innocent questions.

Plus, have you ever seen a toddler eat? I think they could have easily made that mess if they had enough time....

In reality I would have left the fussing at the children off camera, which I am sure is what happened here. I would have done the same thing..grab a camera and record the moment because while it sucks right then to know how much you are going to have to clean up...you know years down the road you're gonna have a laugh about it with friends,. You might as well just deal with it calmly instead of like a crazy person like how most of us would imagine our parents dealing with it. I always promised myself I would never be like them. :/

Thats what i was saying the first time i saw this video i was thinking it was fake because if you think about it, multiple things are wrong here:
    1. There is only one bag of flour in their hands that supposedly covered the entire house and themselves
    2. The mother would be a hell more pissed then just :O
    3. It is in high places that the babies don't seem to be able to reach, like it's on the shelves over the couch and stuff like that i dont see how the babies could have gotten up there.
    4. I dont see how they could have done that in minutes either...
    5. Next time close ur baby gate.........

I would most likely and laughed and then cried. Then sent them to their grandmas until the house was clean again. :) My daughter did this to my kitchen when she was 2.

The look in the boy's faces, and their statements tells me it is real.
She could not script sons this young to make such genuine statements.

A lot of folks are able to remain calm. They hire such individuals to work in plants where they are the only one in charge on weekends or holidays. I did such work.

She is letting her sons enjoy their 'moment' before she gets out the shop vac. One thing she should have worried about is flour dust is explosive. But a lot of people do not know any kind of dust that can burn, can get explosive. It may not kill, but with little kids, I dunno, such little lungs, and it certainly would bust out all the windows if somebody struck a match...if dust was in the air.

Ooh... That threat of, "Wait till your father gets home" still strikes the fear of God in my heart. My daddy worked, and my mother stayed home to care for us five kids. She pretty much handled all the discipline in the family, but if we did something so serious that our 6'6" dad had to be called in to reinforce of our "attitude adjustment," we knew we were toast! Yikes.

That's sad :( Good thing times are different and moms are more patient and realize that instead of doing that, it's better to take a moment to breath and take in what just happened and then strongly explain to your kids why they will never do that again!

It was staged by the mother. The kids are too small to have gotten flour on top of things. Also, the bag was opened at the top, not dropped off a table and broke open. Also, the bag looks like a 10lb bag, not a 5lb bag, too heavy for these small kids.

I knew 4 year olds boys (2) that could roll a 10 lb bowling ball all the way down the alley, So - yeah - sure, they can pick up a 10 lb bag. No problem for some. You'd be surprised how much even some 2 yr old boys can lift. If they lift with their legs, they most certainly can lift more than you expect, but not for a long time. You must also remember, it only weighed more BEFORE it was opened. My ex couldn't even throw one in the alley without a gutter ball, in the same game.

And if you ask how it got on top of the TV or shelf? Don't you know - kids THROW the bag around? Anyway, the TODAY Show believed her enough to invite her and her sons in for an interview. At least she got a trip out of it. I'd give her the benefit of the doubt.

I don't doubt the toddlers could have done that, even the high spaces, flour is pretty light, kids can climb, and they're lightning fast. My reaction, on the other hand, would not have been nearly as calm.

My guess is if this mom was as young as I am that she probably could have stayed calm. So many of us grew up with reactionary parents that we learned from their mistakes and can take a moment to stay calm and realize that yea it sucks right then but years down the road we'll be laughing about it. Might as well take a picture and deal with it when you can instead of pointlessly flying off the handle and creating the nightmare memories most of us have of our crazed parents.

I didn't watch the video because I didn't need to. Mothers and grandmothers have an addictive need to brag and tell everyone about all the cute crap that their kid or grand kid did. Even if it means making it up!

At first it look like it was real, but I notice how she kept say "Oh my gosh" repeatedly. Like she couldn't think of anything else to say. Also for a brief moment you could see her feet. And I swear I seen flour all over her pants like she helped them.

Of course she got flour on her...she's with two boys that probably hugged her, who were already contaminated, or she was looking around before she got the camera. Yeah, I can see your viewpoint, but I'm giving her the benefit of the doubt.

roflmao "What'samatta, Mommy?" "It's like a snowman puked all over my living room".

My girls did that with a bag of sugar. I laughed. Broomed up as much as I could and used up 3 bags in the vacuum cleaner on the rest. According to them, the sugar bowl was empty so they were going to fill it and dropped 25 pounds of sugar off the shelf.
Kind of weird how it went from a pile on the kitchen floor, up and down the hallway, and in to the bathroom lmao

Ahhh...perhaps we know the same people...
I have an autistic sister living with me, now in her 50's...and when I was growing up, she loved to throw water on the cat, and all over the back kitchen porch. KP usually involved a lot of mopping up, on a weekly basis. She also threw food as a preschooler when done, and because she had a strong arm...it sometimes stuck on the wall.
Kids can be a lot more precocious than folks give them credit.
Because of my experiences, plus babysitting - I say YES, the film is real. Why not?
