Not a bit odd. My Rottweiler comes running as soon as I turn the vacuum on. He loves it and it keeps those Rottie tumbleweeds from rolling across my floor. My Rottie-before-him loved it, too.

I think that, given the right tool, it feels like a very special massage.

If they'll let you do it it's worth it. Corgies shed like crazy. Dealiing with all that hair is nuts. Husky's are even worse. I'm so glad we're done with dogs for a while.

It's a great way to "de fur" him. I have a Bouvier de Flandres. He's 130 lbs and looks like a big brown bear. He doesn't shed, but he leaves little puff balls everywhere. Hey, I'm going to try this on him as the corgi sure seems to like it.
And, I think that I'll also ask to try it on me. I don't shed at all, but I love being tickled !!

A Bouvie Person!!! Yay! I lost my Bouvs at advanced ages and I'm now looking for a pup. I don't think yours will like the vacuum, however, unless you keep his coat really short. It works best on shorter-haired dogs. With a Bouv, the hair won't "slide"...it will just tangle and pull. But, if he's short enough, he will probably love the experience.

Some dogs like mine freak as soon as they see the vacuum cleaner, but mine would go get her brush, bring it to me, flip on her back and wait for me to groom her, she would purr like a cat.

I have two dogs and the Lab, who needs it most, hates the vac while the short hair Catahoula, who doesnt need it, loves the thing. Figures, right lol-)

1. Put the vac in a room away from the dog(s).
2. Turn it on.
3. Feed your dogs their regular meal.
4. Turn the vac off.
5. Every two days, move the vac a little closer.
6. When they can eat, happily, with it on in the same room, hide it in some way and try it on the Lab. Start with the hair over the rump...away from the head.

Once they find out how good it feels, they will not let you vacuum without damanding to be "hoovered".
