13, in my opinion, is far too young for a boyfriend. You're still a kid. Enjoy it. You'll miss it. :)
You have plenty of time for boys later on, trust me. Don't waste your time with some guy, spend it with your friends, hanging out and just having fun. When your old enough to maturely handle having a boyfriend, it's great, but it also brings a whole bunch of heartbreak, stress and tears your too young to be dealing with. You don't need to chase after some guy just so you can have a boyfriend. My advice is to wait, I mean just be friends with guys, hang out with them, but don't start dating yet. Wait until your a little older, you know? But if you'd really like to, just try hanging out places... going bowling, going to the mall... whatever. You might meet someone.
I'm not a kid, I can't hang out with my friends they never invite me anywhere, I hate bowling, we don't have a mall in my part of KY, and if I asked my parents to go somewhere like that, they'd get suspicious. I have had a bf, but it didn't work out cuz i jumped into it. We're not 2 young 2 date in 8th grade, my frend who is a str8 A student has had like 6 bfs. My other frend has had 12... But thats 2 much 4 13 yrs old, but still, just an example!~!!!! haha
Personally, I believe if you're too young to even drive, you're too young to date and actually really have a boyfriend anyways, you know? Not saying it's bad, just saying it's much better to wait until you're a little bit older.
I'm 17 and got my first boyfriend this year. There's nothing wrong with that. Most of my friends started dating in 9th or 10th grade. It really depends on the person. If you meet a guy you really like, than great, but don't go out looking for someone. It's so much easier when you're not looking for it.
But seriously. One question: Why do you want a boyfriend so badly?
Ah, I understand... Just remember, don't take it too seriously because you have plenty of time later on to get more serious. And when you start getting serious, that's when you get your heart broken... And that really, really hurts.
In my opinion, saying "I want a boyfriend" isn't going to get you anywhere. You should wait to meet someone you actually like, then go out with them, not just find a random guy so you can say "Omg, like, I have a bf now!!!" that's just childish. unless of course that's what you're going for..
Explain to them, why you'd like to go. Generally parents don't get suspicious unless you give them a reason. But I acknowledge, some parents are paranoid.
