Has no one taken notice of my intentional placement of the steeple of the Christian church in the background of the Bunghole Liquors photo? Yes, people, I purposely caught the Christian church spire in the shot... One person noticed also the bottom sign has an arrow pointing downward and stating "lower level", placing that in conjunction with the "Bunghole" reference of the sign above...

Having had a job to take samples of all incoming raw materials at a Chemical Co. I know All about Bungholes! So in a sense the name makes good sense . . unfortunately most do not know about bungholes so the title sounds really really gross! Or would that be poor taste?? Booo hiss! So sorry; heehee

    LOL! I had no idea!

I first heard it on Beavis and Butthead and just thought it was slang for that certain "lol" part and nothing more.

They merely made it more public to a younger set.. the slang use of the word has been around for decades... long before Beavis and Butthead were so much as a twinkle in their creator's eye...

LOL... I'm sure the owners knew full well about the true meaning of the term, AND the slang meaning, thus what the connotation (and snickering) would be... great ploy for attention... what person anywhere in the area wouldn't remember that name? And, how many customers went there because someone told them that there is a package store called "Bunghole Liquors"... they were curious and went there to see for themselves and while there, maybe bought a pint or two... awesome and creative advertising... and think about it... maybe I just drove some business their way between this post and the one in FB...

Oh I agree with you 100%! The name is very fitting and makes sense but anyone would know how funny it sounds and capitalize on it. I am sure they knew what they were doing all along. Funny post! Thxs for putting it out there!

I was taking samples of the incoming raw materials from 55 gal drums and larger. I had to open the drums to get the samples.

Yes... as the image on the sign shows, it is actually the hole in the top of a barrel... from way back in the days of the old "keg" style wooden stave barrels to modern day steel and plastic drums...
