"I recently asked my neighbors' little girl what she wanted to be when she grows up. She said she wanted to be a President. Both of her parents, Progressive type Liberal Democrats, were standing there, so I asked her, 'If you became President, what would be the first thing you'd do?'

She replied, 'I'd give food and houses to all the homeless people.' Her parents beamed with pride.

'Wow...what a worthy goal.' I told her, 'But you don't have to wait till you're a President to do that! You can come over to my house to mow the lawn, pull weeds, trim my hedge, and I'll pay you $50. Then I'll take you over to where the homeless guy hangs out, and you can give him the $50 to use toward food and a new house.'

She thought that over for a few seconds, then she looked me straight in the eye and asked, 'Why doesn't the homeless guy come over and do the work, and you can just pay him the $50?'

I said, 'Welcome to the Republican Party.'

Her parents still aren't speaking to me."

There is extreme ideological differences. Progressive believe in total government control of every facet of our lives with a nanny state from cradle to grave. Socialism always fails!

    By the way --fantastic illustration!

Yes, the little girl realized, why should I do all of the work and then hand over my hard earned money to those who do little or nothing to earn it?!

Progressives are all for spending other peoples money on those who will not try to better themselves. They love to make decisions for everyone, as long as they are exempt or don't care (ie: soda restrictions).

I heard this years ago - and there is nothing wrong with helping a homeless person..why is he homeless? Maybe he is a veteran..maybe everyone should just pitch in a couple dollars and help the guy..maybe the guy would be happy to work. So simplistic

As we all know, there are many reasons for why a person may be homeless. For some it's through no fault of their own. But for others they caused it themselves by wrong choices. Some are also fugitives from the law not wanting an address to be tracked down.

Our monetary system is a grand illusion created by our ancestors as a useful reminder for exchanged favors and expanded upon every generation. I am not sure how or when the more manipulative aspects came into play, but they were eventually accepted by society and/or became law. Now we accept them as part of life because this is what we were taught, what our parents were taught and what our grand parents were taught. Generation after generation have embraced and passed down these delusions as reality. The say you can't make fantasy into reality, but they are wrong. It has already been done so deeply and ingrained so thoroughly into our society that most are too blind to recognize it for what it truly is, an illusion. Alas, they may be better off not knowing. It has been a frustrating battle for me to know what i know, feel how i feel, try to accept it and live within it, yet long deep down to break free from these chains that bind me, but have no clue how to do just that.
I am not a fanatic of any kind that i am aware of, these are just my observations and my opinions based on my knowledge and experiences.

There are too many mitigating circumstances to think with such a black and white mindset. Many homeless people have mental illnesses, such as schizophrenia, and many are trying to find work but aren't getting anywhere. There was even a news article a while back where a woman who had a phd in astrophysics was homeless and begging for work. It's quite sad, really...

Please distinguish between the "Progressive" commie-socialists calling themselves "Liberals," and true Liberals. One is almost the polar opposite of the other.

Help me, if you can. I can find nothing that even suggests Progressives believe workers and producers have a greater claim to the fruits of their labor than a redistributionist central government.

The problem is Progressives are the primary reason we have a "redistributive central government". The Constitution was written to purposely keep us from having that. This was why most of the power was put in the hands of the states, that conveniently, the Progressives are so intent on usurping.

He was dead on right about that. He said PROGRESSIVES, not true Liberals. The commie-socialist "Progressives" espouse "big government globalism" and curtailment of freedoms, whereas, a true Liberal espouses more freedoms and less government. Not like this guy here:

"Information" such as Obama's attack watch website to report those criticizing him, as well as many other things, must be recognized by a mind able to perceive it. If you choose to be like this, then even if it bites you on the nose, or ass, you'll still be impervious to it:
