To Non-Chrstians: Do you find it annoying when a Christian says they are going to "pray" for you?

It annoys the hell out of me!!

Blessings to all and,
May all be well with you ^_^
I could certainly understand your upset if people only say theyw ill pray for you when they find you do not believe as they do, making it a judgement of sorts, but even then I hardly find it insulting when they say such to me knowing what I believe my faith (I do not claim a religion) is not in alignment with theirs... again what they say when they say "I'll pray for you" is they wish you well, hope that you remain strong and find what you seek... unless of course they say i will pray you go to hell which I have had people say to me... but then I dont think there is too great of a hope they are ever going to be happy and less they will be making it to anywhere beyond this life..
I do not conform to anyone "religion", I have my faith, I know what I know and I know what I believe and for me that is the only way to serve the ones who made me. So when people find out I am not a supporter or their dogma and they say they will pray for me I know I serve best by taking it to mean they will will be praying that my faith will remain strong as I "pray" their's will. This way the power stays with me and no doubt can be had about my beliefes.
You need to remember that no one can demean you, insult you, hurt you without your permission. Stop taking what they say to you as a personal insult and you will feel stronger and more sure of what you know and believe.
You have to be willing sometimes to just smile and nod and then forget everything they said as you walk away. The only person who knows what is good and correct for you is YOU. Letting others tell you what is good and correct strips you of your power to choose for yourself and letting what other say change how you want to be does the same... the flip side of this though is it sometimes means you live a quite private life, you do not put your business out there for everyone to judge. You surround yourself with people who are like minded or at least open minded and to everyone else you remain general and stay away from topics which cause contraversy.
It's all relative to me.
It doesn't annoy me. Why would it?
And why does it annoy you? I've no idea what your religious persuasion is (you listed "other" in your profile) ... but there should be no reason for it to annoy you.
If you have some concept of God, then a prayer on your behalf is simply an offering to ask God to keep you in mind.
On the other hand, if you don't believe in God, the prayer would be utterly meaningless and empty.
I don't know about you, but I don't get annoyed at things that are utterly empty.
is usually my response to that, otherwise its
And i shall pray for you brother, >=] *troll face*
What a shining example of civility and tolerance.
It happened when my Mum died. My entire class wrote messages to me. Half of them were along the lines of "praying for your family. Hope you get through it okay".
Unless you mean when a Christian prays for you because you're not Christian...
That's annoying because they're implying something's wrong with you.
I do enjoy saying to particularly hateful Christians though.
