Same to you, @Jazzy. Below is my dad as he looked during WWII. He made it through and lived to the ripe old age of 99. I'll be observing the day with my youngest son, who is a 1st Lt. in the Army National Guard and recently returned in one piece after a tour in Afghanistan.

Amen! That goes for me too. We should never forget those brave men and women, some of whom made the ultimate sacrifice. Thank you to all of them. Two of my Brothers-in-Law were medal of Honor winners in Viet Nam. One got the Congressional Medal. They've both said they'd rather have had a "welcome home", and "glad you made it", from the media. Instead, well, you know what the Viet Nam Veterans got. Spit on.

Yes I do know how they were treated. Unfortunately I was not alive yet so all I can do now is give thanks every time I see a Veteran. Thank you for sharing

I was little when all that was going on and I felt so bad for those men. Even then I knew it wasn't right.

Your welcome, it was the only way I could pay back the U.S.A. for the freedoms I have.
Let us all take a moment to bow our heads in silent prayer to honor those who gave their lives in war, to those who died on active duty and to those who have passed on after their military service.
