It has happened to me before, but it didn't bug me. They were friends who were being nice, not flirting. Or they were flirting in some case, but it obviously wasn't serious, so why would I feel offended that he flirt with someone else? Believe it or not, a guy is capable of finding multiple people attractive and not wanting to date any of them.
Obviously it will sting a bit if you like the guy, but unless he's dating you or really acting serious about wanting to date you, and you intend to accept his offer to go out when it comes, he has no obligation to only complement and flirt with you.

That's happened to me before. And, sometimes a guy you went to school with (who didn't talk to you when you went to school together) finds you on facebook to tell you how pretty you are and to ask you out, and then when you tell him you want to get to know him first before you date him, he just stops talking to you.

Never happened, those boys probably aren't in my age group, I tend to not go for jr high boys it's too weird my younger brother isnt even in jr high.
