Beautiful images here. We are never truly one who understands our surrounding galaxies, and we are always asking that one true question. That is"Are we truly the only ones out here?" I serenely doubt that honestly, but we are not ready to see or be visited by them.

I think I might argue quite the reverse. "Space looks very pretty therefore there is a supreme being to whom we should bow our unworthy little heads in prayers of gratitude. There is something not quite right about that logic. It is like looking at a rainbow and assuming that because it is very pretty, there MUST be a god. Now, who is the real fool?

that is old news - I mean that is millions of years old I would love to see how it looks NOW - the only thing we know about now is 4 years old and older - even the sun takes 8 minutes to get its light to us

consider this - if we could travel several hundred thousand light years in a day and went to the center of the galaxy - it wouold be like going from ancient history to today we could watch stars form and die and who knows what would be waiting at the end of the trip

Not quite infinity but a very very long way back in time. I believe that the most distant "object" found by Hubble is some 13 billion light years away. That means that we are seeing the object as it was 13 thousand million years ago. The chances are that it no longer exists.

The Hubble shots are absolutely amazing, there's no doubt. These are, however, mathematically-generated images (images based on data), and not photographs (most people do not know this). The measurements obtained are then 'adjusted' and 'enhanced' based on what we (or, rather, most scientists) currently believe to be the truth regarding physics, galaxies nebulae, and/or other stellar objects.
