THE WRECK OF THE SARAH L. PALIN

THE WRECK OF THE SARAH L. PALIN (Version Two)
(sung to the Gordon Lightfoot song “The Wreck Of The Edmund Fitzgerald ”)
By Lynnrockets
June 26, 2012

The legend lives on from the North Slope on down
To the town they call Sandpoint, Idaho
The Heath’s one would say, had a daughter that day
Why they kept her, I must say, “I don’t know”

They loaded up the truck and they tested their luck
When they moved to Wasilla, Alaska
Sarah enrolled in school and was nobody’s fool
On the court they called her “Barracuda”.

In 1982 she left for Honolulu
Off to Hawaii Pacific College
She did not last long there nor at anywhere
In her quest for some meaningful knowledge.

She finally did see a journalism degree
After stints at 5 or 6 safety schools
Sometime in between she was a pageant queen
Then she worked in TV for KTUU.

She met up with her fate sometime in ’88
When her TV career was a failin’
And everyone knew, as her parents did too
She would soon be the Bride of Todd Palin.

Long before she did wed, she conceived in his bed
That was the end of her abstinency
While laid out on her back, she gave birth to Lil’ Track
The result of an unwed pregnancy.

She was now in a lurch cuz of her right wing church
But she carried on without a care
She had a beehive hairdo, but had nothing to do
That all changed when she became the Mayor.

She appointed some crooks then she banned some good books
No one lasted if they weren’t on her team
Wasilla’s deficit grew, kids fired-up on homebrew
Not to mention the methamphetamine.

She became the next Guv and to show the state love
She proposed to unite remote shore banks
But once in a bind she politely declined
To the bridge she said,”Thanks but no thanks”.

John McCain now you see had to choose a VP
His campaign was certainly failin’
He wanted a she that was trés “mavericky”
So he chose Alaska’s Sarah Palin.

But poor press reviews of her live interviews
With Couric and Gibson oft replayed
Showed she could not spar with the nightly news stars
Let alone outperform Tina Fey

The election was lost and poor Sarah was tossed
From her seat on “The Straight Talk Express”
She went home and did pose in her new store-bought clothes
But Alaskans were not now impressed

She’s no longer a saint due to ethics complaints
She has nobody left now to wink at
Her opinions ignored and her actions abhorred
“Hockey mom” once again is a rink rat

Her career was a blip, it was a sinking ship
Her supporters are jumpin’ and bailin’
Her character flaws became the final straw
For the wreck known as Sarah L. Palin

Ahhh, but now we have Bristol on Reality TV. Has anyone caught the junior twit's show?

As a matter of fact I did Sissy. I love relity TV. It was pretty entertaining. But then again you know how I feel about that family. Much opposite than the poster of the question does. :)
Did you happen to see the clip when Bristol was in the bar riding the mechanical bull and they guy yelled out his comment about her mother? Quite honestly I hope you will admit he was a jerk. I later heard he's suing her for putting it on the show. Sometimes we need to keep our mouths shut or it may just come back to bite you in the rear. I haven't heard anything more about that but am anxious to see how it turns out.
Yep bring on the Bachelor and the Bachelorette, Mrs. Eastwood, Gene Simmons, etc etc. I have even tuned into Toddlers and Tiaras but only for a good laugh.

Between the two, Sarah Palin and Rick Perry have an IQ of about 25.

I will have to admit it is quite clever. You do know how I feel about Sarah though.....I love her. And those kids names...I love them too. Track, Trig, Willow, Bristol and Piper. I love that. But then I also love Pippa.
In high school a couple of my friends had great names:
Chezzie, KiKi, Baker, Lockhart, Ford. Most were maiden names of their mothers or grandmothers.
    Oops...guess I got a little off track.

Personally I think the names are indicative of how far off the deep end Palin is. Especially Bristol, named for the town in Connecticut where ESPN's headquarters are located. You would think someone with a traditional Biblical name like Sarah who claims to be a "family values Christian" would show her own children a little respect.

Just my opinion, but then you already know my opinions of Palin.

I assumed Bristol was named after Bristol Bay, Alaska? Though you might be right.

Actually, it turns out to be both:

    (From wikipedia)

Palin was born and raised in Wasilla, Alaska. She was named "Bristol" after the Bristol Inn where her mother Sarah was employed; Bristol, Connecticut, the headquarters city of ESPN, where her mother Sarah hoped to work as a sportscaster; and the Bristol Bay area of Alaska, where her father Todd grew up.

I think she was named after Bristol Bay, PP. Maybe that's where she was conceived. I would have been named Toledo. Hmmm...I kind of like it.
I like the names of Sarah's kids. I really do. Don't know if I could ever have named my child those names but they are fun. Maybe their middle names are Christian.
I just did a little research and the middle names oare not Christian.....Indi, Bianca, Sheeran Marie, Paxson.....

Hey did you ever find out any more about the "Toledo War"?

U.S. President Andrew Jackson, who sided with Ohio in the conflict and dismissed Mason as governor.
Acting as commander-in-chief of Ohio's militia, Governor Lucas, along with General John Bell and about 600 other fully armed militiamen, arrived in Perrysburg, Ohio, ten miles (16 km) southwest of Toledo, on March 31, 1835.[21] Shortly thereafter, Governor Mason and General Brown arrived to occupy the city of Toledo proper with around 1,000 armed men, intending to prevent Ohio advances into the Toledo area as well as stopping further border marking from taking place.[22]

Let's hear it for Andrew Jackson! Hey and it even mentions my town. P-Burg. I am ashamed to say I never had heard of any of this before you brought it up before. I know how you love your history and I applaud that. I'm more into shoes and nails. :)

LOL. Why do we tend to give our friends and others names when we're kids? I had a friend who when she was born, her dad was determined that they find a name that would not and could not be skewed. It was Yvonne and he figured the worst that could happen was "Vonnie"......By the time she got to middle school, she answered to "Worm". He never got over that. lol

Same here. My own name Biblically means "Praise the Lord".......I heard that rendition quite a bit growing up. Like, "Praise the Lord, what are you doing now?" lol

I need to get a note off to you before we leave later this morning for the 'netherlands" of Minnesota, the land of my birth.....sure glad my folks weren't into naming their offspring after such locations. The town I came into the world in, had "Saint" in it. lol
