Terminator has the advantage of being nearly indestructible with no real human parts except some skin.
On the other hand, RoboCop can always check in to a local garage for repairs. He's got the badge so he can just commandeer the parts.
Terminator has to be supplied or replaced from the future, an iffy proposition at best. RoboCop was a first-run experimental model with local resources for repair, replacement and original manufacture with the added benefit of continual improvement.
Less vulnerable, target specific, capable of self maintenance and repair, relentless, void of human emotion and memory... Blends into the crowd more covertly & efficiently.
I enjoyed them both. At there time they were done as well as they could be and the special effects where great for the time. Things keep getting better and now with the digital process they can really make a decent 3-D movie to where it looks really good. I also think Rambo series were great and Judge Dredge was another good classic. Arnold was good and always remember "He'll beeeeeeee Back". Movies yes, politics No!
terminator:great
I always felt sorry for Robocop losing his family, identity, and humanity.

I think RoboCop takes this one.
