You!

Is that a good idea?

Neither of us are really a ring person,
and we both have wanted to get matching tattoo's instead.

Just wanted idea's, or opinions about it.

It's cute and if you're serious about staying with that person forever then why would you regret it?? My mom has her husbands initals on her wedding finger in nice handwriting and it looks great.

It's a very sweet thought =) I like tattoos that go together with someone else. My bf and I have one like that. I have a character from a show and he has the side kick lol

If the tattoo cannot be removed by lazer surgery, a plastic surgeon will have to cut the skin off. I've seen this done on "The Housewives of Orange County" and it looked REALLY PAINFUL!!!!! The woman had tattooed her husband's name on her ring finger, and then she divorced him........

Well, it sounds to me like the modern equivalent of what rings USED to mean, so why not. But I wouldn't do it unless you're sure you can hold the marriage together for the rest of your lives. Otherwise that "unwelcome" reminder that a wedding band becomes after a divorce, becomes much more problematic.

Me either, I'm not much of a diamond girl. I'd rather get a nice poem than a peice of jewlery any day.

In general I am against tattoos. In this case the idea might have merit. You need to think seriously about this. Are you absolutely sure you are a committed couple who will for all eternity love, cherish and honor each other? If so, the design for your 'wedding rings' should include your partners name and the date of your marriage. Remember these rings will be a permanent part of you and cannot be slipped off if things don't work out. I truly hope that you will consider the permanence of your 'rings' to be as permanent as your life together should be.

personally, i wouldn't, just because my family has a history of divorces, so i'd rather not have a permenant (shoot can't spell) wedding ring. i mean, i know they can be removed...but i'd prefer an actual ring. however, should my husband die, i might get his name tattooed around my ring finger, because i'll always love him.

its a great idea, how ever if you have a job where it unexceptionable to show tattoos, then you'll have to wear a ring over top anyways..
or if your marriage ending up failing .. then not so great

i would look into getting a tattoo instead of a ring but that because i have a job that dosen't allow me to wear jewelry
lol OR if you have a physical job where you have calicoes then the tattoo wont stick, and youll have to keep getting it redone, which would suck, but thats only if you get one that goes all the way around the finger...

Statistics do not make it the "best" decision.

Since 50% of all marriages end in divorce and 25% of those that "remain" married just can't "afford" to get divorced, you have a 1 in 4 chance of being in the "lucky" group.

Other than that, life is about doing things wrong ... until you get it right!

Bottom line, you need to make your own mistakes and not make decisions on the mistakes of others.

    pARTy On! Micha ...
