both have good deals here in hawaii but you have to ASK the sales people....that is all you have to do....for example at one store, i asked about a 32 inch flat screen tv that works as a monitor too....the sales person told me that any item in the store with an asterisk * meant that they were not going to carry it anymore and any item with another symbol...sorry i forgot....meant that the price was lowered

see my point is all you gots to do is ask. :-)

If the two were degenerate siblings (they are)... Wal-mart would be the HighSchool dropout and Target would be the College dropout.

Funny... most of the drop-outs I know are losers... I'm a drop-out and I never really did anything. I mean I don't have accidental children, a rap sheet and live off my parents but I didn't ''become anything'' yet.

Most doesn't mean ALL! >.> A person with a GED could get just as far (If not Farther) as a person with a diploma! It all depends on what you do with it. You can still get into College and get a degree with a GED. In the end, a GED and a Diploma are just pieces of paper.. >.>

They are both convenient to my location. I just watch their fliers and follow the bargain.

They are cheaper and in my area nicer to deal with. The cashiers at Target harass you about their stupid credit cards and debit cards and on and on.

I try to stay away from those two local business destroyers and especially China-Mart.
  • Don Leuty none 2012/07/16 21:08:29

Why do you call them business destroyers when clearly they are not. They stimulate competition, which lowers consumer cost. As a consumer, I would expect you to follow the best offer since it is in your self-interest to do so.

If they destroyed business, that would be self destructive. Their goal is survival, not gouging the customer.

When they move into an area that previously had small town businesses run by your friends and neighbors those small businesses can't compete.

People will normally do what is best for themselves. Whose "fault" is it? No one holds a gun to the customers' heads. If friendship and personal service mean more than price, the customers will not abandon their neighborhood stores.

People vote for their preferences with their dollars in a free marketplace. The large chains just offer that choice.
