LOL. It may be a "cricket". These are little programs that sneak into computers past the security programs and make the computer do little noises. I planted one in my bosses one time and it drove him nuts.

Its "them", you know who I mean right? Y'know the ones that "they" say never existed. If it gets louder or faster, you'd better ditch that thing. Shutting it off won't help you any. When it gets to be a low monotone ,RUN !!

Probably just need to change the battery on the mother board.

if it's coming from the speaker you may be able to solve the problem by downloading a new driver for the speakers. If it's an internal click, the problems is most likely to be hardware thing. I'd download a new driver first, hardware problems are a pain to identify

You computer might be overheating. Do you blow the dust out of it regularly?
Is the blip sound from an internal speaker or does it sound mechanical? It could be a fan or there could be a much bigger issue.

Is that where it's coming from? It's been driving me crazy trying to locate it.

They're watching you, man. Be careful what you say and do; it can come back and haunt you.

PS - Why do people pick on paranoids?

I bet you have a cell phone nearby. When they update you can hear the sound thru your computer.

Prolly. I don't suppose your computer is anywhere near a 'smart meter' for your home's electricity?

Why? mines about fifteen feet away.

Smart Meters send their data to the power company via a signal about 10 times as powerful as a cell phone. I'd bet that's your problem. Try moving your computer or if you want to tick off the power company, put a Faraday Cage around the meter. lol

Wouldn't that really tick 'em off :O) Since that would block the signal. Bet you thought you'd stump me on the Faraday cage.

Nah. That's easy to look up even if you didn't know about them from recent TV shows like Doomsday Preppers.

Haven't watched any of those shows yet. I knew about it from my days as a tech.
