casette tapes! I remember when my sister got a dual casette tape player for her birthday, we thought we were so cool cause we could record other tapes lol
Vermont, a state that I grew up in. Where Climbing trees, swimming in rock quarries, playing hide and see with kids from all over town was an everyday thing. Television was something we didn't do much of as there were only three major stations. That is what my children are missing out on! Freedom is what my children will miss out on! We never had to worry about strangers kidnapping children, being molested by our neighbors, or thieves. Our America is not what it use to be or what it use to represent! I so miss what we use to be!
It can be a mistake to generalise about the 'differences between the generations'. it is all too easy-especially as one grows older-to sound like a boring old fart type of guy! You know the sort; " it was all different when I was a boy" type of thing! However-and although I know there are many fine young kids out there both male and female- I do believe that there is a steady erosion of 'respect' taking place in many of the youngsters of today-not just for OTHERS but in many ways also for THEMSELVES. That is something that I saw very little evidence of in my own youth and I find it really rather sad that there is so much of it about today-and getting worse with every passing year-or so it seems to me, anyway...
Money, complete free will, complete freedom of speech, complete freedom of choice...... this next generation will be paying for our current generations mistakes for years to come.
corded telephones, corded remotes, record players, rotary telephones, turn-dial television, full service gas stations, affordable gas, 5cent candy, beta tapes, vhs tapes, cassette tapes, paper textbooks, chalkboards, roller skates, a future, a healthy planet, good health, manual pencil sharpeners, paper checks... should i go on?
VHS's and VCR's, CD's, hell, even DVD's. Also books that are made out of real paper, books you can hold in your hand, not to mention bookstores. That's the one thing that's becoming extinct that I'm really bummed over.
They will not have ANY freedom if they don't change the course our government is taking.
