It's possible I wouldn't block them. If they were mean-spirited about it, I'd report them and then block them. If they were humorous or came up with some original insulting material that wasn't too offensive, I would consider not blocking them.

I don't see the point in blocking someone unless that someone is stalking/trolling you. Name-calling I can handle and it just makes them look childish and uncivilized.

No I would not block them. I would however go on that post and make sure they knew about it. When you block you no longer see them but that will not stop them from continuing to bad mouth you. Make them look foolish and the ignore them.

They aren't worth the time. People can complain all they want about the blocking feature, but it's there for use based on individual choice. I CHOOSE not to use the block feature except for stalkers and abusive comments.

Just because if you do and they are removed from the site you can't get rid of them from your blocked list. Likely this one is a sock SJ anyway and if they are as desperate as I think they will just make another one.

No because I don't believer in blocking. But that is a personal choice and does not suit everyone. If it was just calling someone a ummm (ok I'll say it) "pain in the ass" then I might let it pass? But I bet it was part a bigger context. If that entire theme was negative and nasty then I'd recommend it.

Blocking does not have to be forever & a wise friend I have here has shown there is a great power in forgiveness as well! ;-)

Then as you say don't enable their rudeness! Many of us encourage you're being here as you add much to this place. Block them and look to those that enjoy you and take encouragement from that.
