I have to because I won't have people being nasty or cussing me and a few other reasons that I feel are legit. But just because people abuse it, doesn't mean that we sometimes don't need it.

When I 'reply' to 75% of the libs I find they've blocked me. They must share a block list because most of them I've never seen a post from them before... or they're all sock-puppets.

I get blocked by people I haven't even talked to. I go to answer their question and I can't and I'm like "what did I do to them?!?" Yes, it has. People on this site are way too touchy.

I think the blocking option should only be used for stalkers. To many people use it because they are chicken $hit. Don't want people to respond to their smart a$$ remarks.

I don't block but I've been blocked by dozens of people on both sides of the aisle and even a few that don't do politics at all. I am actually happy about the last gal that blocked me. I don't have to deal with her mean-spirited and patronizing replies anymore, so I'm no longer against the blocking option.

While we may all have been unfairly blocked by someone, is it right to have to suffer fools? I think not. Sometimes blocking is our only option.

Since the advent of the points and the leaderboard, serious discussions have been infested by people who are not there for serious discussion while ruining a discussion for people who care. Again, blocking them is the only available option.

The only reason I would chose to block someone if if they are persistent in their choice to engage in insults and name calling as a technique for expressing their opinion. Much can be learned and gained from interacting with those you disagree with or consider ignorant. Chronic incivility is my only criteria for blocking someone.
