And we're supposed to be happy about that? I assume you are against the healthcare plan. Correct? The GOP has just wasted 31 votes on this vendetta while what we really need are jobs. Shame on them. I say move on and really do some work not just promote your own political agenda.
I am sorry about your business, I truly am. I lost my job in 2008 when the market crashed and Bush was still in office. We went bankrupt fairly quickly because I wasn't eligible for unemployment due to the non-profit status of my employer. We managed to keep the house so we're better off than a lot of people in that my husband has a good job and it's been pretty stable.
When I said, "I say move on and really do some work not just promote your own political agenda." I was speaking of the Congress. All they've done for the past many, many months is try to control women's bodies, the right to birth control, abortion, and equal pay for equal work and now they've moved on to dumping healthcare for all. I could see them protesting by having a vote on a repeal, but, please tell me you don't think it's reasonable to waste the time of the nation by taking 31 votes to repeal it. The business of the nation is waiting to be done and they are not even discussing it.
I am so tired of hearing about the wealthy who own the corporations complaining about having their taxes raised to the rates they paid under Clinton. They've had their tax cuts for years and years so...WHERE ARE THE JOBS? The American people are not going to buy it anymore. The Congress has failed to act time after time due to Republicans blocking everything.
Being from Massachusetts and having known Mitt Romney as our governor, I will never vote for him. He will say anything to anyone to get their vote. It apparently doesn't bother him that we have him on film going back and forth on every issue you can think of. He promised the people of Massachusetts that he would lower our taxes and he did, on the wealthy. Then he imposed new fees on the rest of us to make up the difference. Massachusetts dropped from 37th to 47th in job creation under Romney. And as a final kick in the pants, he added over one billion dollars to our state's deficit. He is a liar. Either that or he's incompetent but I doubt that since he's out very well for himself.
Romney cannot be trusted. Obama walked into a very bad economy that was down and going further down when he took over. He had two wars going which were draining our wealth big time and he could get the Republicans in Congress to raise taxes on the wealthy. Even now, the GOP is poised to stonewall the new budget and not increase taxes on the wealthy while maintaining the tax rate on the other 98%. It would be the right thing to do but they won't.
And why won't Romney release his tax returns? His father released 12 years worth when he ran. Obama has released his. What is Romney hiding? Why is Romney the first candidate for president to have many overseas accounts in Switzerland, Cayman Islands and more? Do we really want a president who will not invest his money in America?
I will never change my mind and you will never change yours. I won't even try to convince you.
Again, I was not referring to you when I referred to moving on and promoting your own agenda. My complaint is with Congress not you. You, of course, must do what you think best and I will do the same on my end.
